Your therapy should be as unique as you are
Welcome to Cactus Rose, my name is Hailey
Therapy should be an experience that is customized for you and your priorities, giving you practical tools grow in the ways that feel most important to you. Whether that be confronting things you've buried, changing how you show up in your relationships, becoming more resilient to life changes, or setting aside survival mechanisms that no longer serve you, I’m here to help you do the deeper work. We’ll go beyond talk therapy, using evidence-based tools to help you process, feel, and move forward.
The type of work I love most involves unraveling the ways that our past affects the present, and helping people rediscover their sense of authenticity. This includes working through past traumas, changing relationship patterns, and healing defense mechanisms that used to keep you safe but now keep you disconnected from life.
Like its namesake, Cactus Rose Counseling is based on my belief that we are not only meant to overcome difficulty and trauma, but that we are built to thrive and create beauty after pain.

Learn about the tools I use:
-
EMDR (or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) uses eye movements and body awareness to help you reprocess distressing memories. It targets thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and body sensations to address each of the impacts of the memories. It is well-researched and an extremely effective tool for all types of trauma.
-
IFS (Internal Family Systems) is built on the idea that we all have different internal ‘parts’. Some parts hold pain from the past, and other parts keep you from feeling it. In IFS, we work with the protective parts to free them from their ‘job’, and heal the rejected parts that hold pain. In doing so, you are able to access the deeper sense of security and wisdom that lies beneath all these parts, and build a secure attachment with yourself.
-
Polyvagal therapy is the science of regulating our nervous systems, and understanding our defense states, including fight, flight, freeze, fawn, and collapse. I’ll give you tools to reprogram your nervous system, and teach you how to shift back to calm.
-
Elements of mindfulness, meditation, and somatic (or body) awareness are woven throughout my approach to help my clients reconnect to a deeper sense of presence beneath their survival mechanisms. Through practicing mindful awareness, we become more intentional, awake, brave, compassionate, and resilient to the pain that comes with being human.

I always work from a holistic perspective that recognizes that the brain and body are completely intertwined. In order to help clients achieve their goals, I help them assess how all aspects of their life impact their mental health.

Let’s work together.
